Pros

The health insurance and benefits are great. There’s a lot of opportunities to learn various new skills relevant to your career. There are many talented individual contributors and entry-level leaders.

Cons

Leaders often say Paycom operates like a 28-year-old startup when it’s actually just an organization ruled by chaos with no long term strategy. Most promotions and raises are based on favoritism and politics rather than talent or hard work. The most important measurement of success to leaders is that employees consistently put in 50+ hours a week rather than focusing on the quality of work being completed during those hours. Leaders micromanage their teams and are threatened by camaraderie among employees. Most projects or campaigns often don’t have a clear goal or direction, leaving employees guessing. Leaders hold skip levels under the guise of it being a safe space for employees to voice their concerns and opinions then proceed to retaliate against and target those who do.
