Probably the worst company I've ever worked for.

Pros

Met some really great people working there. They do have benefits. Weekly pay. Start you off more than minimum wage. I worked in a mall store, which is super fun.

Cons

WELL LET'S SEE. Right off the bat, they throw all this information at you and accept you to remember it over night. You basically have to stalk and harrass your customers and be fake nice to them to buy stuff. MOST OF THE TIME customers complain about the prices anyways...cause forreals they have boots for like 60 bucks...ITS PAYLESS people really don't want to pay that much. My manager is the most judgemental person I have ever met. oh and the laziest person. usually when I work with her I'm doing all the tasks because they're too tired. ALWAYS standing at the register. OH and since the manager's at the register their UPT's are great but...ha...your upts are turds. Anytime I build up a sale in the aisle...they get the great upts from it. I never thought I'd have a problem with management before but....wow....they barely treats me with respect. How did they ever become a manager? beats me. The whole smiles thing is crap no one wants to hear it. Half the time you get ignored. Most of the time you get yelled at by customers. I wish you could call corporate and complain but they don't do poop about it. Pay is totally not worth all of the work you do....oh and you are a key holder. able to open and close the store, without the title. why?

Pros

-Payday is every Friday -Pay raise now starting to be every year (makes a small difference) -Your in control of all your information, you can look at your paycheck every monday before you get paid. You can change your information like dependents etc. -Pay starts off a little above minimum wage -Flexible schedule, if you need to take off for that day and do it before the schedule gets made you will be given that day off. -Close at 9 and some stores at 8:45

Cons

-Not enough pay for what they expect us to do. -Times where you work and close by yourself on the most busiest days ever, and expect to provide customer service to every 40 people in the store with you when you have a long line of customers waiting to check out. -Forced to be in way to many stressful situations, you have to tag the whole store when a new promo is going on, change all the displays and posters, take care of customers, ring up customers, clean up store, work on shipment, get shipment done before the next shipment arrives, get stuff down for customers, put new shipment out on the sales floor and put older shoes thats all ready out in that size back up top all at the same time, and most of the time by your self. -not enough people are scheduled to work on Saturdays -When other people slack or do not help out it can majorly impact all the work that needs to be done for that day. -Constantly cleaning up after lazy people, constantly telling customers that their child can not do this or that. -Dealing with customers who always put lower sales stickers on their shoes and argue you down about that is the real price, when the shoes they brought up just came out 2 days ago and are not on sale for 15 dollars. -There is no room for calling out if an emergency happens, because 2 people are always schedule to work.
