Don’t Bother Working Here

Pros

My role is fully remote

Cons

Ever since the change in CEO, it’s just been really downhill. There’s been a ton of changes for the sake of client retention, but it hasn’t been great for the employees you can tell a CFO is running the company. The company currently only cares about shareholder profit and is disguising layoffs as company reorg’s. Women and Bipoc leaders are getting pushed out of their roles and being replaced with the CEOs friends from previous companies. I am currently in a role that I wasn’t the role that I interviewed for and I feel stuck. The company also tries to say that your ‘total’ compensation is competitive, but the base pay is nowhere near competitive or worth the hassle/headache of working here. There’s also a huge cut back in DEI initiatives, which used to be a selling point of the company. The company doesn’t even use external vendors to assess employee satisfaction. They use an internal survey because of how bleak the employee opinion is currently.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We value your voice and appreciate your honesty. At Paylocity, we’re committed to growing Forward Together. Change, especially during periods of transformation, can create uncertainty, and we recognize the impact it can have on how our people feel. While our business decisions are made with long-term success in mind, we know that how we move through those changes matters just as much as the outcomes. We’re focused on creating a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. That includes continuing to evaluate our compensation, reinforcing our DEIA efforts, and staying intentional about transparency and trust, especially during organizational shifts. If you’re open to it, we encourage you to connect directly with your leadership team. Your feedback matters, and continuing the conversation helps us build a better workplace culture for everyone.

Pros

Opportunity to stand out based on contribution and projects. Decent work life balance depending on the dept.

Cons

Lost a lot of leadership in recent years. Stock price down. Does not feel like a "growth" company anymore.

Trying to be the next ADP

Pros

Income potential, flexible remote work

Cons

Massive turnover in implementation and customer support in the last few years dramatically impacting customer satisfaction. Senior leadership ignored the problems and largely left Account Executives on the front line to deal with all of the customer complaints. There were no options to solve the problem of lack of staff and the lack of knowledge to support clients. Client implementations were a nightmare and no starts were common. It got to the point that I wasn't confident after all the work of selling a client that I would get paid on the work I did because implementations were so bad . And management did not care.
