Pros

Culture and people were great. Pay was okay. Lots of unexpected gifts and swag will show up at your front porch.

Cons

Poor management. Unrealistic expectations in terms of metrics you need to hit in order to advance/grow with the company. I have had my meetings regarding reviews rescheduled up to a month later than originally scheduled which hindered my advancement. Stats/metrics are severely impacted by your team/coworkers. Turn over rate is high and management is super lenient on taking time off which creates more work for others or yourself. Management is not quick to respond when reaching out for assistance or regarding personal matters. You are told to expect a certain amount of calls a day but receive double instead. Almost impossible to manage the sheer volume of emails and calls to meet your metrics in order to receive a promotion. Training was poor and did not prepare you enough to jump into the role. Do not work here unless you are desperate for work.

Pros

For the most part everyone is pretty nice that works there, nice office space, good technology

Cons

PCTY promotes inclusivity as long as it aligns with their agenda... if you have any type of conservative viewpoint I would not recommend working at PCTY. You constantly have liberal ideas pushed on you when they may be contrary to your morals and/or beliefs.

Passive aggressive leadership

Pros

They pay better than other comparable companies

Cons

1. An employee in operations gets no planned training and is expected to learn in the chaos. There are unforgiving performance reviews unless you are in the good books of upper leadership. 2. Women in technology are always in disadvantage because there are very few in there and the few in there move up only if they play the right kind of games to move up the ladder. There are no women leaders in operations on the super exec level. 3. They do claim to offer flex hours and work from home schedules but it’s an unsaid pressure of watching your phone for emails and instant communication. 24/7/365. You are gauged by how much you are ‘on top of it’. 4. Managers are puppets in higher leadership’s hands and don’t have your back. It’s sad to see how many people are so insecure with their jobs there. You are never sure where you are in their eyes and if you are playing the right chips 5. Trust level on leadership is incredibly low especially if you don’t belong to a ‘clique’ there. All those ERG groups are artificial and a check in a box. 6. HR is never for the employees. They will throw you under the bus if you go to them with concerns. There is never appreciation for loyalty, hard work or anything if you are not in the clique. HR will sweep you to the side 7. Paylocity does not deserve all these accolades on Glassdoor. It’s not accurate when you are in there

Well… at least we pay better? But in all seriousness, we’re sad to hear that your experience with us was not what you expected. We hold ourselves to the same high standards across all of our groups – because we want to avoid the type of inconsistent experiences that you’re describing. Regardless of whether someone works in operations, technology, sales, or any part of the business, we work to make sure they receive the same level of training, support, and have the same opportunities for development as everyone else. Thanks for your specific advice, for what it’s worth, we’re going to dig into it and find opportunities to improve, whatever they may be. Sorry, we didn’t work out for your career, best of luck in your future endeavors!
