Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, RSUs

Cons

Managers are a good ol boys club. No mentoring, lots of high stress projects, poor communication between teams, so much RED TAPE to get anything done. 401k vesting takes two years

Pros

I don’t really have any pros

Cons

If you take time off you get scolded. Team didn’t feel like a team, felt more like a machine. Lots of late nights Also felt like I was hired for diversity not because of my knowledge

Pros

Stable employment. Fully embraced remote work for years before covid. Pretty good culture, if you can find it.

Cons

Organizational chaos is enshrined. Re-orgs happen on a 6-8 month cadence. The business dismisses concerns, claiming these are a good thing indicative of growth. In reality it creates these problems: - Constant confusion over areas of responsibility. - Constant carousel of different leaders. - Career growth is nearly impossible unless you find out about a new team and fight to get on it, exacerbated by the above - people who manage to have the same manager for 18 months get promoted. People who don't, get left behind. Your 1 year plan for growth evaporates when your manager changes, leaves, or your responsibilities are moved to another team. - No value placed in teamwork - constant reorgs mean you should always be focusing on what work benefits you and your personal goals, since you cannot trust your team will exist in the same form tomorrow. - Leaders don't know or care about individual experience or skillsets, and shuffle responsibilities around to further political goals - prioritizing these over operational goals and outcomes. - Inconsistent opportunities for role changes - Some days, internal opportunities are open to all with a full interview process. The next, roles open and close in a moment, going to someone who has already been pre-chosen.
