Pros

Pearson was a great environment to work in and a company I would highly recommend to work for. The main London office 80 Strand being a a great location in the iconic building that also overlooks the Thames on Embankment. The company is now developing a truly modern Digital feel with its desire to become like a Google or Yahoo type company with its friendly but work hard ethic. There were refreshingly very few egos and the culture of Pearson was to treat your colleagues with respect and as equals whatever their role. The Senior Management were great and really engaging, it was easy to build great relationship with the VP's and Senior Stakeholders. Pearson is improving at recruiting from within and offers excellent career progression. Socially it is also really good with high quality staff restaurants and cafes there providing great opportunities to meet other employees and make new friends. Overall I loved my time at Pearson and would return in a heartbeat if an opportunity presented itself.

Cons

The company is changing so fast from being an old fashioned publishing company to being a Digital platforms company that it is going through some degree of pain. There is some outsourcing going on to reduce costs and it is not clear what areas that may impact moving forward.
