Pros

Pearson has a great work/life balance. The typical workday for most people (even senior) is 9-5, and they offer "summer hours" that allows most employees to leave at lunchtime on Fridays in the summer. They offer great benefits, including tuition reimbursement, discounted gym memberships, 401k matching, and good insurance options. The office location is great. If you have kids in college, it's helpful to purchase their textbooks at a discounted rate, and you receive discounts on Penguin books as well. The office culture is pretty relaxed. Dress is business casual. For someone who is interested in sales, this is a great place to work!

Cons

For some, it is difficult to find a career progression path at Pearson. Especially if you are starting right out of college, the only way to really get ahead and make a decent salary is to become a sales rep in the field, and then return to the office for a manager's position. The pay is not very good, although that is probably similar at other publishing companies. And to be fair, the sales rep position can be quite lucrative. You'll find lots of people in the office right out of college, and then managers, with not many people in between.
