      "Process"-ed to death

      Pros

      Amazingly talented, dedicated people trying their best to be productive and effective in an environment that seems designed to throw obstacles in their paths

      Cons

      Perpetual re-orgs with ever-increasing emphasis on processes and multiple teams all doing similar tasks. Engineers cannot access their own database or web servers without filling out half a dozen "tickets" and securing twice that number of approvals. Continued offshoring of development work. Push for open floor plan to encourage collaboration is nothing but a ruse for cost savings.

      Office is in wonderful location

      Cons

      They don't pay well, and they don't treat people well. What is shocking is they keep under performers and even trouble makers in their jobs because if they get rid of them, they won't be able to backfill the position. So there seems to be no consequence for anything. This is certainly NOT a metritocracy.

      Good benefits, including 401K match, decent vacation time.

      Cons

      Very unsettling environment for several years, during reorganizations that go on and on. Lack of confidence in upper management among employees. Morale is low. Many seasoned people are choosing to leave.
