Pros

The benefits are good, and that's the only good thing about the company these days, unfortunately.

Cons

This is specific to the Online and Blended Learning line of Business which operate the k12 connections academy schools. Bullying is rampant, especially at the leadership level. It's common place for individuals who speak up to be fired or phased out of the org. Those who stay have stopped speaking up for fear or retribution, or just sheer survival. It's heartbreaking to watch a company who supposedly cares about kids end up embodying the same hostile behavior that we see in schools. If you are a creative person, and are passionate about making a difference and feeling heard and respected - I recommend you look elsewhere. Maybe after a few years this plague will clear itself from the system but it's not happening in the next year. For now, just know that most of the employees who have been picked for quarterly awards are now out of the organization. They have left voluntarily or have been phased out for speaking up for what is right. God speed!

Hello, What you have described is not who we are and does not align to our values. There's no place for bullying at our company. That's why we have every employee sign our Code of Conduct (https://www.pearson.com/legal-information/our-policies/coe-of-conduct.html) and give them multiple ways to report any violations. Also, all reports to HR are investigated and managed confidentially. Thank you

Pros

Some amazing people on staff. Could work from home. Nice severance package.

Cons

So many.... So many meetings, so many status reviews, so many check-ins with so many people who all seemed to just work for the weekly reviews. So much paperwork during the review process. So much process with little to show for it. Very political. Easy to wind up in the wrong place when the next round of layoffs came around. Lots of uncertainty. Would this group survive, would the latest strategy survive the next round of new execs...? Hard to get excited about strategies that seemed to change every quarter. Abysmal raises. Hard to motive staff when no one received more than 4-5% raise each year, no matter how hard they worked. Too many just got the standard 2.x% COL increase... cheap thrill. Going into the office to work became an incredibly depressing event. A sea of desks, never the same people in one area. Find a seat, plug in your headphones for the onslaught of check in meetings. Hopefully see a familiar face to talk to at some point in the day. But probably not. No travel, at least hasn’t been for years. So you work with people you will probably never meet, never really connect with. Especially if they are in Sri Lanka or India. Hard to create real teams that way.

Pros

flexible schedule great coworkers yearly company wide open space events

Cons

CEO promised no more layoffs earlier this year. However, the entire curriculum department is getting VSP's/ISP's this summer. All in house content will be outsourced. Executive leadership seems to value quantity over quality. Pay is also well below market rate.
