Pros

Good work/life balance, friendly environment as many employees are former educators, reputation of working for a company with a household name, excellent product.

Cons

Little room for career growth, vague messages from the higher-ups, tons of layoffs and reorganizations, the company has no shame or remorse being so blatantly obvious about its interest in the company over the employee's livelihood, allows mild competition to become a big threat from complacency with releasing new products.

Pros

The environment at Pearson is very politically correct, you work with friendly employees, Glenview has nice office grounds. Office equipment is generally up to date and IT is friendly.

Cons

Building products with out-of-date technologies. Strict processes that seem enforced more in order to keep things for certain teams to do rather than them being particularly helpful. Problems often seen, but people seem to prefer to just work and deal with them instead of work up the chain to make improvements. Very inefficient processes. Lots of Agile talk, no Agile walk.

Pros

Pearson's biggest advantage is it's highly intelligent and passionate employees. I've been there for twenty years and the intellectual prowess of my colleagues has always kept me on my toes.

Cons

Over the last five years or so, restructuring has been nearly perpetual. New organizational schemes feel more like experimental than strategic.
