Pros

Decent pay, benefits, PTO, coworkers

Cons

The restructuring over the last couple of years has created stress, low moral, and a lot of turnover. The company laid people off and added the work to other employees. The job has become more about quantity than quality. Losing good employees due to the stress and unrealistic expectations.

Pros

You’ll be forced to do things manually because there is little to no infrastructure (technology systems, process, resources) in place to run the business. The pro... you’ll learn how the engine is built, but afterwards you’ll realize it’s not an engine but a tattered sail. This company is big but very small. Everyone will know your business.

Cons

I won’t speak for the clinical side. This review is only in regards to the business Operations side of the house and the functional departments that support it. Imagine a giant enterprise that’s operationally managed with archaic tools like the abacus. Welcome to Mednax 2018. This company is severely behind in how they manage the business (stock price reflects this) and you have people in leadership positions that aren’t held accountable (they’ve been there for decades) and lack of resources in place that are actually qualified to try and fix it. A lot of leadership folks are “home-grown” meaning they’ve been doing things the same way for years and they like it that way. Also, the company is slow to invest in new technology/systems in managing the business. Even when they do invest in something it’s a band aid approach with no formal phased implementation causing chaos and wasted time. Everything I mentioned above is tens if not hundreds of millions dollars of waste and abuse. Complete lack of oversight and accountability. Toxic work culture: if you don’t suck up to key players, you’ll be a target to be ousted. Can’t trust leadership or HR, they will both dig into your personal life so they can use it against you in the future or share it with people to make fun of you behind your back (i.e. a lot of discriminatory remarks about people’s education, sexual orientation, age, race, etc.) Completely unprofessional environment where gossip about coworkers/direct reports personal lives is tolerated and if you don’t partake you’re considered an outsider. If you’re intelligent, competent, have integrity and want to be recognized for your accomplishments instead of spending energy dealing with insecure fragile egos that just want you to be an order taker or those that just want to use you to advance their political career agenda ... don’t work here.

Pros

The business of taking care of babies is a noble one.

Cons

It is a national healthcare group that balks at being out of the office for doctor appointments. The atmosphere is kept oppressed through micromanagement. Middle managers are passive-aggressive and save petty grievances for annual review to use as canon fodder.
