The individual contributors. I loved my team. I made life long friends at Peek. They were honestly the only reason I stayed around.

We’re sad to read this and hopefully can provide context on the decisions we’ve needed to make regarding layoffs. As a travel business, Peek has sadly not been spared from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve had to make some very difficult decisions in downsizing our sales team in order to navigate this harsh reality, and are sorry that this impacted you. With hiring managers, we do strongly prefer promoting from within whenever possible and have done this in the past across multiple teams. 60% of our current managers were internal promotions. We always evaluate internal candidates for any role and are committed to developing leaders from within. We value your input as a former Peekster and we’re forever grateful for your help. Our HR team is here to assist you in finding a new role, and if you have any other feedback, please let us know at hr@peek.com.

Pros

• Good Costco runs • peek catered lunch every week is cool

Cons

• Very cliquey. In this unprofessional company, employees are put into positions based on how good of friends you are with the managers. Not performance. • Hates men. Especially white men. You can feel it. • Micro Managing. I could do probably 80% or more of my job from home, yet the culture of not trusting employees is prevalent. Maybe with COVID-19 it will help executives to understand the modern world. • Promises but doesn’t deliver. Ex: “We’re growing and you can move into different positions!” Lies. • Expects a lot but pays you little. • The company isn’t profitable. • Career growth is “encouraged” but it’s really not. The second you share you’re interested in something else it’s frowned upon. Toxic. • Peek culture is a popularity contest. 100% • Any person in any type of “mid-market” role views themself as more superior. This obviously comes from the top down.
