      Concerned about recent layoffs

      Pros

      Love the company and what we do, our leadership and our culture. The Horsham home office is a beautiful campus and the employees so friendly. Great place to work.

      Cons

      Just concerned about the layoffs since November 2017. Many long-time associates have been let go, with no opportunities for another position in the company for them to fill. Several mature women, with many years of service are gone. Concerned, yes. Fearful of job loss, yes. Trust factor, low. Hope it turns around in 2018.

Regarding your concerns about recent layoffs, at times difficult decisions need to be made in order for us to achieve our long-term goals for our policyholders. Unfortunately, some of these decisions result in job loss and they are never made lightly; when they are necessary, we provide financial and career assistance to help impacted individuals transition smoothly. As we begin 2018, we’re optimistic that we are on course to achieve our business goals and lead within our industry.

      Pros

      Decent benefits and some good people.

      Cons

      Soooooooooooo old fashioned and not at all transparent. People have been there for years and everyone is too burnt to do anything about the charlatans running the company. Very shady place. Feels like it's 1990 in there.

      Pros

      Life/work balance, easy to impress if you are smart, great 401k match, great if you do not want to work in city, great for last career before retiring ( not for ambitious)

      Cons

      Exec team is weak, mgmt could care less about little guy, CEO cares about her career/not yours, so many workers do bare minimum and its never caught/worried about, communication down is nonexistent.
