Pros

Co-workers are great within HR Direct management is good and does not micromanage Working remotely - although senior HR leadership constantly tries to tell us that we should come into the office. The reality is, zero HR employees actually want to go back to that environment. Remote work is here to stay.

Cons

HR Leadership is too far removed to see burnout. It is truly a horrible environment right now. Pay is extremely low - cant compete to land new talent. Our team is past running on fumes and I cant work here much longer. The health system is growing too fast - each recruiter has 100+ requisitions Mass exodus of HR employees are leaving ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY - Good employees get ALL of the work while other employees are never held accountable for doing the bare minimum (or less). CHRO pumps his fist, tells you he appreciates you, but never seems genuine. He also makes inappropriate remarks constantly - just an extremely poor leader. Waits until things are terrible before taking any action - very "reactive" leader. Benefits cost a lot - you pay for premium healthcare but you can literally NEVER get an appointment at any specialty clinic without waiting 6+ months. What is the point of having healthcare if you cant get an appointment? Hiring Managers are toxic - nearly all of them lead by fear and again, there is zero accountability for the way they speak/yell/curse at Human Resources employees. Bad HR System - the company decided to go with "Infor" and their "Reimagined" product suite. We spent the last 7 years with Infor and their terrible HR system. So what does the CHRO decide? LETS GO WITH THEM AGAIN! It was the single worst implementation in Penn State Health history and continues to be a major pain point. On top of not being able to do our jobs in HR due to the extremely high work loads, we also cant do our jobs because the system is terrible. Then, multiple subject matter experts on the system left the company so now we are in an even worse spot. Thanks leadership for this self-inflicted wound!

Pros

I enjoy being around the patients and helping them. There is always overtime available if you are interested. Co workers are friendly and fun to work with.

Cons

Only paid $10.00 an hour. Managers are negative towards employees. Typically leave my house in the morning at 6, clock in by 630am and don't leave until 7-730 PM. Can't get all the work that needs to be done in a day completed in the 12 hour shifts. Managers are constantly adding more responsibilities, yet not properly compensating employees. Responsible for patients lives, but treated insignificantly by doctors, nurses, etc.. Not paid for the responsibility and care that needs to be taken to ensure patient safety. Work for a union that decreased the original employee hourly wage, yet we pay them dues for fighting for our rights. Management more concerned about times, and less worried about being precise. Don't feel valued or appreciated for hard work that job entails.
