Pros

I have enjoyed working with Penn State Health for my career. The environment is very team-oriented.

Cons

The staffing on the floors can be limited at times when there are higher patient admissions.

Pros

High-quality and thorough training program for new graduate nurses. HMC is a level one trauma center so you will receive a wide variety of cases and ample opportunities to advance your skills. Management on the SICU is fantastic and truly looks our for their employees.

Cons

Not a con but definitely something to think of if you are looking for a career here, it is a fast-paced environment with sick patients, you must be confident and willing to work. The every-other weekend requirement can be a deterrent.

Pros

Ok benefits, PTO. Adequate orientation.

Cons

Understaffed and underpaid. Stressful jobs that have a high turn over rate. No guaranteed time off.
