Pros

Job security, benefits and general salary is good. The location is rural and safe and close to many interesting cities and outdoor activities. The relationship to Penn State is a real plus and opens up a lot of personal opportunities. Staff really cares for the patients and their families. It's authentic.

Cons

Very political. Getting things through key decision makers can be challenging. Items are often slowed in committees and the overall feel is very institutional. Many legacy employees struggle to let go of things of the past and this creates an uninviting culture from colleagues.

Great Benefits, Horrible Leadership

Pros

Great pay and the benefits were very good

Cons

This is a Magnet facility and the CNO does not value nurses and has been destroying the work environment for nurses especially with eliminating weekend positions. No accountability and certain individuals run amok and do what they want by sacrificing patient care

Pros

They never cut hours and we have gotten a raise annually in addition to an annual bonus every year since I started there (6 yrs ago). Plus a 75% tuition bonus for a Penn State education!

Cons

It's hard to promote within the company since there is so much competition nationally for top positions
