Pros

Benefits are good Company name is recognizable, but others outside the industry only know of Penske Truck Leasing

Cons

Training is almost non-existent Management does not know how to manage, at times don't even have the technical or personal skills to be in their position..."Good Ol' Boy Club" in effect, if you can BS good and go out drinking, you're in If you get lucky enough to have someone who is willing and able to help you advance your career, good luck there is nowhere to advance to, and because of the "club" you won't get the position you should You're expected to work above and beyond what is physically and mentally acceptable and logical, even most ER staff don't work these types of shifts and hours EVERY day and week!! Performance feedback is never given, positive or negative, then the yearly review comes around and if you actual get it, you get blindsided with criticism....yearly raises along with the reviews are not always given, not sure if it because of laziness or just being cheap or both I received a promotion and didn't even get the compensation that was agreed on So much for 55-100 hours a week I put in 50wks of the year without getting paid OT or having a salary to compensate that type of dedication and availabiliy Forget about work/life balance...What life??!!! All you do is work and sleep, once you have a day off you're so behind on taking care of yourself and family, constant burnout is not uncommon No sense of teamwork, the " I " mentality is very apparant Good employees leave the company if they have the opportunity, as staying is futile

Pros

Decent benefits package, managers are good about giving time off when needed, regular hours, there are many dealerships in my area so intercompany employment transfer was easy.

Cons

I have worked for 2 dealerships in the San Diego area and both always seemed to be understaffed which would put a lot of strain on the existing employees. someone would quit or be "let go" and no one would be hired in their place, the rest of us would have to assume the job duties of the former employee. so although there are many extra duties raises are non-existant. management seems to turn a deaf ear to employee complaints and reccomendations. The management staff is mostly (save a few) more worried about petty superiority complexes then having a happy staff.
