Total decoupling of performance and reward!

Pros

Due to the vast discrepancies between work performance and reward that the new management have put in place, no one cares anymore, so you can basically not do work and still get enterprise-software level pay. Anything you can do quickly to make your managers and VPs look good to the CEO/CFO will get you heartily congratulated (though not rewarded really, there are no more rewards), and you can spend the rest of your time doing whatever you like. Other pro: The balance sheet will likely actually look better this time next year than it did this time last year, due to axing most product support & development.

Cons

Doing great work will no longer advance your career, and unless it's directly in line with the CEO's visions (distinguishing between 'vision' as in clear and defined corporate strategy, and 'visions' as in you ate the mushroom), it will likely be lost work in the long term.

Not a good place to be

Pros

Having a decent job until something better comes along.

Cons

The new management team, particularly Mark Ties and Janet Dryer, have made their contempt and resentment for "all things Perforce" (particularly the Alameda office) abundantly clear. Janet telling the entire office in her first week that she fell in love with the Company during the acquisition has proven to be the first of many lies. She fell in love with $$$ only. Actions speak louder than words. They are doing everything they can to avoid investing in the growth of any office, except Minnesota. Our careers page speaks for itself. It's only a matter of time before Minnesota is our headquarter office. Something everyone knows to be true, but management refuses to address.

Went from bad to worse

Pros

Used to be a great place to work. They have managed to retain some great employees, but no doubt they'll be firing them soon too. I think there is still an annual bonus but this is now next to nothing.

Cons

It has been going steadily downhill for years, with too much money and focus going into growing the business too quickly. Not enough money going into development and looking after the developers, meaning products are rushed out the door without the old quality. Too many people in highly paid positions that don't know what they're doing. Now bought out by private equity firm who clearly don't know what they're doing as they're firing most of the good staff. Any positive reviews on here from recently are likely to be due to the fact that management asked employees to write them to neutralise all the negative ones, so take those with a pinch of salt. Very difficult to advance within the company. All autonomy stripped from offices outside the US HQ years back as part of the "vertical alignment".
