      Pros

      Pay is reasonable compared to the field. But then almost all retail underpays in my opinion. Not quite as stingy with hours as other retail but this store was rebuilding, too. My store's staff was fantastic even though most of us were new. Excellent, serious, experienced management at our store, too. Good customer interactions during my time. Make sure you like people AND animals. Large variety of different tasks to keep you busy. The time flew.

      Cons

      Decent onboarding but insufficient training for the wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. Expect to learn on the run. Complicated business model with standard retail, pet care and sales, grooming, training, possibly even pet hotel. Almost too much to do each day. Typical retail issues, like crazy scheduled hours, all day and weekends. For me, being on my feet, moving a lot, AND hauling a lot of heavy product (40lb bags of dog food) caused me recurring physical strain.
