Low Pay for a large city and extremely difficult work that takes a mental and physical toll. Felt difficult to get accommodations. Often stressed due to amount of dogs on schedule. Often feel like I can't turn away dogs, even when they seem to stressed/anxious. Groomers are paid by commission but bathers by hour, so groomers will rush to get done early which makes things more stressful for bathers (and ends up with less hours/pay for bathers). Expected to keep up with phone calls in the salon while taking walk ins and working on your dogs.
