Pros

Love working with different types of animals. In charge of reptiles, rodents, birds, and fish. This is a great opportunity to learn about proper habitat and temperatures for animals. Anyone looking for a career in Agricultural, veterinarian or simply love all animals should go for this career. Its a great way to meet new people. Learn about different adoption ageancies and help others. Petsmart is very community friendly. We do different events throughout the year. Very liberal and fun company. Managers, co workers and most of the pet parents are awesome.

Cons

Unfortunately, Petsmart is more of a retail based company. I mostly do cashier and customer service which some customers are "interesting". Being retail we get retail pay. Dont consider long term unless you're moving up in the company. If you stay in the same postion etc just know the new hires are making more than you. Schedules can be a problem. There are no set schedules.

Pros

Awesome associates and managers (mostly). Decent pay depending on position. Customers are over all pretty decent as well. As long as your able to get full time there will be vacation, and holiday pay. Not a hard job just a lot of physical labor (I'm a stocker).

Cons

Once corporate bought the company it went slowly downhill . Now it seems to be about the almighty dollar for them. More work load for us. New rules and old rules change constantly it's even hard for supervisors to keep up with. Overall it's a decent company to work for.

Pros

Plenty of options that smaller companies cannot offer: large scope projects, business trips around the country, collaborate with other large brands and third party agencies, etc.

Cons

Extreme stress in high-demand work, low job security when some degree of layoffs occur every other year, very little room for growth as talent is often brought in for the higher positions, pays nicer than many smaller companies, but still was underpaid the entire time of my employment for the job duties and titles that I had, often a lack of teambuilding in favor of high demand deadlines.
