      Pros

      Working with animals...if you can find the time in between everything else. Decent discounts for your own pet supplies.

      Cons

      You will either get way too many hours or not nearly enough. There's somehow never enough people on staff to get things done even if we work quickly and efficiently. People who have been here for months and months don't have the proper training because there's basically no time to do it. You are not allowed to do it on your own time because the company doesn't want to invest in its employees. If you have a bad manager then it's impossible to get rid of them. If you have a good one they will get burnt out quickly and leave. Corporate is turning this pet supply company into an AI slop 5 Below knockoff. They also keep adding more and more metrics (and annoying questions we have to ask guests) and responsibilities without increasing pay, benefits, or any sort of bonus or compensation. Management encourages psychological manipulation just to sign people up for VCC/P. ("Don't take no for an answer", etc.) There is no incentive to this besides getting to keep your crappy job another day.
