      pretty good place to work

      Pros

      working with the animals and personal pets that come into the store. working with some pretty good peole who care for the animals more then just the bottom line. good chance for advancement. the turn over rate is about normal for retail. the comunication from nsc to the field is pretty good and getting better, we are kept up to date as to what is going on.

      Cons

      goals that are at times not possible to achieve. the pay could be better for what the company expects for results and the hours you must put in. the benefits are about inline for what other companies offer.

      Pros

      The schedule is flexible if need be. If you actually work, you are more or less left alone, and the time goes by quickly.

      Cons

      the abhorrent waste of time in dealing with mountains of auto shipped back stock. Most of what is received is not what is needed. Plus, working with some fellow employees can be tedious when they do not pull their weight or are just slow on doing basic duties such as animal cleanliness. I also am not a fan of how the small animal department is set up, for larger animals like guinea pigs and rabbits, there is not enough space. Plus the amount of back stock for some animals is insane.

      Pros

      The company does try to give you what you need to complete the necessary tasks of the job. You can bring your pets to work, and the environment is somewhat laid-back. Most of the management has an open door policy.

      Cons

      The analytics department morale is somewhat low due to the below average pay scale. The onboarding process is not thought out. Management tends to play favorites and will provide opportunity to those that play the corporate politics.
