Pros

I love grooming Benefits

Cons

Was treated like I was disposable and easily replaced corporate will never understand the difference between a good groomer and someone who has absolutely no idea what they are doing and my manager would not help with any issues that went on in the groom shop

Pros

Working around pets and their owners even when they are cranky.

Cons

They say you matter today and tomarrow you are walked out of the store with a knife in your back and a boot print on your butt. There is no human resource ..sorry let me reword that..on human resources if it is in there best interest they are there for you. Trickle down effect of negative, lack of support and lots of deceiving has taken over Petsense...Karma is all I can say!!!The funny thing is the corporate group never met most mgrs yet they do nothing but gossip and tell tales. Watch out Tractor Supply the CFO thinks she is perfect and loves to BULLY everyone. Well do yourself a favor get a job with a company willing to help you and not looking for ways to belittle you.

A growth opportunity

Pros

Getting to help rescue groups and educate the public were huge draws for me. I enjoyed helping animals, getting to know their owners, and becoming part of the community. I was able to meet extraordinary people and see parts of the country I wouldn't have known existed otherwise. I was pushed outside of my comfort zone and was able to have adventures and learn about myself.

Cons

While they talk a good game, and there are genuinely lovely people in the company, there is much responsibility with very little support/training. Everything comes down to who is directly superior to you and whether they have your back. I would prefer to be judged by my performance as opposed to a skewed popularity contest. Individuals at the corporate office assume much and know very little about who is actually working, who is not being ethical, etc. There is no sense of unity or team work. In my case, certain individuals (unfortunately for me these individuals were highly ranked in the company) wanted to believe ill of me, so they did. Nothing I did or said made any difference. I left before things could escalate further, but as someone who worked extremely hard and took pride in what I did, the harassment and drama were not worth it. However, if the people above you go to bat for you and you can stay out of the line of fire, there is the chance to enjoy working for Petsense.
