Pros

I can't really list any

Cons

Insurance cost is too high, staff gets verbally abused by the patients and nothing is done about it, Dr's cannot provide quality care because it's all about numbers and meeting the goals, the call center is the absolute worst, management gossips and puts employees against each other, low pay, messages regarding lab results and test results do not get answered by the nurses, patient care is horrible, refills do not get done for about a week, does not care about employees and their families. Just a downright horrible place to work. If you are even thinking about applying or becoming a patient here, please....I beg you....go somewhere else.

Pros

Wide open, anyone can join. They are always hiring. It's small and poorly organized. Great place to hide out and slide by if one is so inclined to do. It is in your best interests to do as little as possible. The majority of the core staff, of which there are few, have been there forever. Like since graduation, and therefore know nothing about how the rest of Healthcare actually works. If they need you, then praise is excessive. (Don't fall for it.) But "last man standing" applies. My advice: get into the "good ole girls club" if you can. Then hide and avoid as much as possible. Keep a journal, even an electronic one. Everything can and will be used against you when politically expedient. They will tell you not to, do it anyway.

Cons

THEY. ARE. ALWAYS. HIRING. Usually out of desperation. Most of the ICU and PCU staff have been travelers during the rush part of the year. I SEE NO SIGNS OF CHANGE. Even charge nurses are most likely travelers. Often one gets hired as a manager right out the door. "Welcome! Would you like to be in charge; of, well......everything?" Minimal qualifications, just a, "I have a feeling about this one method." Your best bet to advance? Stay longer. Its kind of a last man standing thing. Those who do know how to do their job will be driven crazy. They will leave out of desperate frustration. They will be made miserable and driven away. They will entice you with big money and big promises. Most of these will evaporate in your hands. They will use and discard you in an equally flippant manner. No one really trusts each other. Worse this may be by design. Don't talk to anyone. Unless you have vetted their reliably well. Like very well. Don't complain to anyone. It will not end well. Their motto is CYA so you must CYA.

Pros

I enjoyed working with the nursing staff and other health care employees which had direct patient contact. These individuals really understood the day-to-day trials each of us had to endure to fulfill a work day.

Cons

There is an extreme disconnect between the administration and hourly employees. The directors and managers were all instructed to keep a STRICT code of silence regarding any changes, good or bad, which may affect others. Reasons were seldom gave, and information was seldom shared. This created an atmosphere of distrust, fear and insecurity.
