Pros

The County as a whole is becoming far more progressive and trying to change the culture of the organization to be more beneficial for all employees. There have a few changes made to the benefits offered to employees that are amazing. Starting at 5 year, employees are eligible to take sabbaticals. Vacation hours accrued has been increased. Overall, the County really is trying to show employees that work-life balance is valued and understood.

Cons

The real con of any government job is the fact that salaries will never be as high as similar positions within the private sector. In addition, change can be slow to happen, simply because of the processes in place to ensure that tax payer dollars are being utilized wisely and fairly. However, anyone who works for the government has the pride of knowing they truly are helping their communities.

Pros

The benefits allow for a good work/life balance for employees. They are one of only a handful of employers to still offer sabbaticals starting at just 5 years of service. The staff at Pinal County are friendly and very professional.

Cons

The salaries for many of the positions are not as competitive as they could be.
