Low morale and uncertain outlook

Pros

PitchBook USED to be a brilliant company to work for.

Cons

Leadership appears significantly out of sync with employee sentiment. This was especially evident with the return-to-office announcement mandating five days in the office without a clear business rationale, which felt arbitrary and disconnected from employee feedback. There are frequent reorgs every few months, creating instability and a perception that there isn’t a clear long-term strategy. These constant changes make it difficult for teams to build momentum or feel confident in the company’s direction. The U.S.-based executive leadership team often seems to lack understanding of European cultural nuances, resulting in messaging and policies that don’t resonate well with the London office. Management quality is inconsistent. While there are some strong and supportive managers, others lack the competence or leadership skills needed to effectively guide and develop their teams

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We recognize that return to office expectations, organizational change, and leadership transitions can feel unsettled at times. While not all decisions will align with everyone’s preferences, we continue to listen carefully and work to lead with greater clarity, consistency, and regional awareness. I encourage you to reach out to your senior leader or office GM to continue the conversation and share your feedback directly.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. While we’re glad you’ve found some aspects of the role valuable, concerns about constant change, progression, and leadership effectiveness are important to address. We care deeply about our employees and take feedback like this seriously. We hope your experience has improved in recent months as we continue to work through changes. We encourage you to raise any concerns directly with your senior leader or connect with your HR Business Partner so they can be addressed appropriately.

Pros

You can still earn a lot of money as an AE at PitchBook if you are lucky (i.e. find a way to manipulate the system) but overall the market and lead flow is drying out. The product is very good but their integration of AI and machine learning has been too slow and competitors have monetised on this. Events/socials are decent but they'll probably be cut in the next 6 months knowing management. Top company if you're a golf and beer enthusiast. You can work with some great people on the sales floor, typically bond over work trauma.

Cons

Management, management, management. They don't listen to their employees and implement reasonable changes when they should - instead they let problems fester into bigger problems and the employees bear the brunt of it. You will become exhausted fighting for what's fair. The lead system is a mess and unfair - favours quantity over quality. Management will announce cuts for employees i.e. Christmas parties then swan off to a 5* golfing and spa break. Makes complete sense. The morale is completely floored. You are not trusted as an employee there. Management are implementing a 5 day office policy from January 2026 which is so backwards. The marketing and lead flow system is embarrassing for a company this size.
