Pros

Amazing people - seriously, you won't find a better group of smart, motivated, fun and collaborative people Most of the projects I worked on were genuinely interesting. PitchBook is the kind of place where initiative is rewarded, and it's not difficult to get the green light to work on something cool Training - PBU is unparalleled, and ongoing trainings/opportunity for professional growth is pretty great Typical 'startup' perks like beer, team events, casual work environment, etc all apply here Working on stuff here is fun, because the product is good. Overall its a very sales/marketing driven culture, but all those problems become a lot more fun when the product is truly world class.

Cons

Compensation is lower than average in most cases. Different departments handle this differently, but overall it's still somewhat of an issue. That said, you have the opportunity to progress much faster here than at many other companies. No work-from-home policy can be frustrating. Understandable given the young workforce, but still something to think about.

Most fun I've had at work

Pros

PitchBook is a great working environment for those who have a growth mindset, are entrepreneurial, collaborative, and focused on the customer. A lot of those qualities are necessary because even though we've been around for 10 years, we are still growing really fast - we move quickly, are scrappy, and there is sometimes ambiguity. With the growth comes a lot of opportunity to be exposed to decisions and responsibilities you might not get at a larger, slower-growing company. For those uncertain about working with a product that serves the financial services industry, the company does a good job of providing training on the in the form of a requisite course for new hires called PitchBook University. Above all, I think we hire great people and that's what makes it fun to come to work.

Cons

As we grow quickly, we are still figuring out processes and systems - adding new ones, evolving old ones. We need people who can help us find better ways to do things. I think it takes agility and "positivity" to thrive at PitchBook, which may not be for everyone.
