      Name recognition of company was a plus, telecommute a plus, resume builder possibilities.

      1) Insulting pay 2) Unbelievably hostile, insulting on boarding process 3) Sleazy business practices during interview process 4) Tired old company in a dead industry with no plan on how to get out, weighed down by wasteful counterproductive bureaucracy rife with unprofessionalism

      Pros

      Management was very good about paying for training, continuing education and materials for professional development (books, software, courses). Convenient location. Intelligent colleagues, many of whom have been in the business for a long time and have a good perspective.

      Cons

      Benefits have been cut back a LOT - no more employee stock purchase, limited vacations, no real perks. Being part of a struggling Fortune 500 company means a lot of layoffs driven by the weakness of the non-software business. Low salaries for the software industry.
