The Pirates will help in nearly any avenue for personal or professional development that one may desire. They will typically make every effort to cover or assist in the cost of the conference, class or event to make sure that the employee is reaping the benefits instead of worrying over the cost.

Cons

The Pirates will not often give specific recommendations on areas for improvement, keeping it open-ended. This allows a great deal of freedom for employees to seek advancement in areas that interest them, but doesn't offer targeted areas or courses that the Pirates would deem beneficial for an employee's advancement.

Pros

Management overall is great. They really put the time and effort in to show you they value your time and commitment to the organization. You will be expected to put forth a lot of work (IE - 80-100 calls per day) but if you are a hard worker and remain open-minded there is a lot of opportunity for growth, whether that be internally or externally with another team.

Cons

Senior reps at times don't take kindly to new reps making larger sales, particularly in regards to group sales where some of the senior reps feel they should have a monopoly on certain industries or companies. You also get a paid a very low hourly wage with low commission rates. This is a job that only college graduates and young professionals can survive on.
