Lots of missed opportunities

Pros

Great benefits, nice and intelligent co-workers, chance to work with great technologies

Cons

Uninspiring management that consistently missed opportunities to create a product and/or service, and put in place equally mediocre leaders in engineering and data science. The results are disastrous. Except the giant, and expensive, staircase that connects two floors they have nothing to show, but just work as consultants from a project to project. It seems that the management was hoping to just create an image of a successful analytics startup, and make a quick sell. This tuned to be a pipe dream, and now they are burning cache , which is mostly going towards the super expensive Bryant park lease. The latest, and surprising, round of financing would give them a year maybe two, but with this course their days are numbered. Unsurprisingly they promoted a fraternity culture where it was next to impossible to contribute with new ideas, or help with existing projects.

Going downhill

Pros

The company used to be really great. The benefits were good and the work was interesting.

Cons

Everything is being poorly managed. Huge layoffs 2 years in a row. If the company spent money more wisely (fewer over-the-top happy hours/client parties, snacks, etc), jobs could have been saved. The cut out a lot of employees who had invested a lot of time into the company and were extremely loyal, but stuck with newer ones who cost them less. The new benefits for 2017 are terrible. The brand new office is going to be split into half a co-working space.

Pros

Some really smart people work here. The office is beautiful. Many of the people that actually contribute are hard working and respectful.

Cons

Frat party atmosphere. Brilliant yet control freak CEO doesn't allow anyone to disagree with him. "Yesmen" are given more authority than they can handle due to lack of talent or experience. Much of the Sr Leadership team is arrogant and disrespectful. Very hierarchical, lots of unfounded ego.
