Pros

Free food 6 weeks vacation which was great to take with me when I left

Cons

When the COO who is now the CEO came in It was almost like he was trying to sabotage the company then I realized he he just sucks at his job or maybe he works for a competitor who knows. Unrealistic expectations for the industry and they are totaling conning investors. There is nothing automated about this place. They got rid of anyone that knew anything and kept bottom of the barrel yes men who enjoy collecting a paycheck because nothing is waiting for them in the job market if they leave. THIS SHIP IS TANKING if you are considering this as a career move only take it if you literally have to because you just got out of prison for something bad and no one will hire you. But let me warn you, I would go work at Walmart making min wage before working for this company again.

Pros

Made some very close friends that I still have lunch with and talk to since working in extreme conditions lead to working closely with the team

Cons

-Management is hesitant and inexperienced -Most people justify chaos and poor working conditions because it's just another 'machine shop' - Finance , Operations directors are very rude to people - Plethora is trying to be Protolabs desperately as opposed to being a unique company

It's great you were able to make some close friends during your time at Plethora. We're lucky that we have such great teammates here, and we try to foster camaraderie and team building through the way we get to work together, with the events and meals we host and cater, and just by the kind of culture we're trying to build here. It's really great when teammates form those kinds of relationships with each other. I'm sorry that you experienced some of the rough effects of our growth too. Our management team is growing and gaining skill every day. Every teammate we have is a lifelong learner by design, and our managers in particular are picked for their potential. We give them a chance to learn on the job, and that sometimes leads to mistakes. Luckily we haven't had many repeat mistakes though, and we're all learning together. Thanks for everything you did to push us toward our goals and mission - accelerating invention to improve our world. If you were with us for a year you saw a lot of progress, and a lot of change. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

PLETHORA of ISSUES

Pros

Can't think of any? Engineering tries their best. "push to machine" being their best accomplishment. Machinist's can report issues with an Ipads (YIPPE!) People Operations is Great! ( They will leave an awesome response on this review!)

Cons

Everything. Don't join this company if considering. Relocating facilities to East Coast and "strategically" lying to their Investors, Employees and Customers all for the benefit of their current CEO Jim. Outsourcing everything they can to make revenue goals and make false promises to customers to show "growth" for Series B that won't hit. The Technology is far from advanced. "Dynamic Templets" are going to save the company. Resources are being exhausted daily.
