Deception is everything

Pros

Understanding of schedules. Friendly admin staff. Full benefits. CEO is collaborative, loves hearing good feedback. Gives credit where credit is due.

Cons

Poor marketing management. Change in culture was not embraced, or understood unless upper management 'thought of it first'. If you are not a man you do not have much say in the company. Mormon culture is strong in this company. Very conservative. As a woman, if you stand up for yourself, you are 'condescending'. CEO does not listen to issues, and makes you feel as though you are the problem, not the management.

Pros

I have worked for Pluralsight since the early days as an outside contractor and when I was offered full time employment I jumped at the chance without hesitation. I had been in the workforce long enough to know that this ownership had something special, not only were they smart entrepreneurs but they truly cared about their vision and those that were helping them make that vision a reality. I was tired of working for greedy business owners that did not value employees and were blinded by the bottom line. What has impressed me the most that even with Pluralsight's rapid growth over the last few years, ownership has worked extremely hard to ensure that the amazing culture that was cultivated in the early days remains in tact. The founders are the most kind, approachable, and caring people I have ever met and working for them is honestly a privilege.

Cons

With rapid growth there are some growing pains but I feel Pluralsight has managed them well and is always actively working towards improving everyone's ability to do their jobs as efficiently as possible.

Great Culture!

Pros

The company puts culture first focusing on the Deming philosophy of management. This leads to an environment without fear and few rules due to the high level of trust. Everyone in the company is constantly pushed to improve quality and do their best.

Cons

It is easy to get sucked into working countless hours because you're doing what you love. A personal level of discipline is required not to overwork yourself. The flexible PTO policy makes this not that big a deal however.
