I worked as an underwriter at Point Digital Finance and had a mixed experience during my time there. On one hand, the company culture was fantastic. The team was incredibly passionate about the company's mission, and everyone was committed to achieving the company's goal. The leadership team was transparent and approachable, and there was a strong sense of camaraderie among my colleagues. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the company was unable to raise enough money to continue its lending activities at the anticipated level, and as a result, many employees, including myself, were laid off. As an underwriter, I was given the opportunity to hone my analytical skills and work alongside many talented professionals in the industry. The company's emphasis on collaboration and innovation fostered an environment where everyone felt valued and supported. Overall, my experience was a mixed one. While the company culture and mission were fantastic, the inability to raise enough funds to continue lending activities was a significant setback. I remain grateful for the opportunities I had while working there, but I do hope that the company can find a way to overcome these challenges and continue making a positive impact in the future.
