Pros

The after-work events, staff is friendly and very helpful, Diversity and Inclusion team is great

Cons

Literally EVERYTHING else. Don't be fooled by the fake good reviews of Polsinelli. This is a horrible place! They get people to put up fake reviews literally on the same day that you put your honest, negative review of this place. DO NOT GO THERE! You will definitely regret it. If you end up at Polsinelli, use it as a stepping stone to get to the next place. This is not a place where you want to stay long-term AT ALL. Management lies to get you in the door then you will see Polsinelli for what it really is. They lie and tell you that it's a great place and have people make fake "GREAT PLACE" reviews. The pay is low, yet they'll constantly throw more and more work on you. You will not be happy here. Every single day I dreaded working there. And the pay dates suck....7th and 22nd - which they don't even tell you before you start, not to mention that your paychecks will fluctuate. At times, you will receive a check that is considerably less and you will need to prepare for those times because you'll definitely feel it financially. They don't even tell you this up front. The raises are low and you can forget about getting a good holiday bonus. They give you $50!!! LAUGHABLE!!! Yes, they will work you like crazy then give you $50!! Don't put any stock into the fake "great place to work" reviews. IT IS NOT!!! I knew I had to get out of there after only a few months of being there. This is the only place I've ever worked in my life that I HATED. As a secretary, I received very little to no training, yet they had high expectations but with low pay. You will have to self-train on the desk as well as their system.

Pros

Deceptive practices and undisclosed expectations are the name of the game at Polsinelli. The only pro worth mentioning was paid parking.

Cons

Pay attention to the red flags--unusual high salary, immediate hire, and inconsistent expectation for billable hours. Additional red flags included high turnover, micromanaging boss, excessive overtime requirements, obvious partner-associate affair, lack of training, disorganized management, underlying lack of respect and support amongst everyone. If you make the mistake of taking any issues to HR relating to bullying, abuse, hostile work environment, expect to be terminated. Everything you say will be used against you. HR has mastered gaslighting, manipulation so it is best to move on quickly and quietly. They will boldly interview your replacement right in your face!

Pros

Prestigious firm that looks good on a resume

Cons

Think you can get ahead here? Unless you’re related to your boss, expect to be abused, overworked, wages withheld, lied to, and taken advantage of every single day. Working here was the worst decision of my life. I was promised a full time job with a 95k salary when hired. They kept me at part time at $20 an hour for over a year, gaslighting me and abusing me all while giving my unskilled, inexperienced coworker (who was only hired because she was dating the boss’ son) special treatment and full time pay. I was working 60 hours a week while only being paid for 20 of those hours. My boss told me that the only skill I had was being a pretty face for clients to look at. HR was virtually useless. They paid me a pittance of the wages they owed me and my boss, to my knowledge, suffered zero consequences. If you are a woman and do not come from a privileged background and can benefit from nepotism do not work here.
