Pros

I work with a lot of great people and generally have a good working partnership with my BSC/MTs. I really enjoy working with many of the clients that I get and I feel like there is good communication with the administrative staff in my office.

Cons

I am unhappy with the difference in pay between counties, especially since not all of us work in the county we live in. The insurance that we are offered costs way too much and the coverage is not worth what is paid into it. I feel that we should be offered more incentives/benefits, such as a portion of our cell phone bills covered as we all find it necessary to use them in order to communicate efficiently with our clients' parents/caregivers. Having mental health days would be great as sometimes the job can be really stressful but there is a lot emphasis put on not missing client hours and if we do need to take time off for any reason we have to use PTO (if it's available to us). Also I feel that having more social activities i.e. a family picnic would help to further enhance working relationships among colleagues and would help boost morale.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very grateful for our hardworking employees and we value their commitment to making a difference in the lives of our clients. We understand that the Therapeutic Staff Support position can be challenging, both physically and mentally, and the BHRS Assistant Coordinators and BHRS Coordinators are there to help in any way they can. We are happy to share that our benefit package prices will not increase this year, due to the company increasing its employer contribution amount. In addition, we have an Employee Perks Program available to employee’s, which allows employees to access discounts at local eateries, fitness studios, and through specific cell phone providers. All full-time TSS’s receive 3 weeks of PTO, after their initial 90-day probationary period has passed, and like most companies, this generous amount of paid time off is meant to be used for mental health days, vacation time, etc. We also created a new pilot program this year, which is referred to as Insurance Pay, and this provides full-time TSS’s the opportunity to use insurance pay over their accrued PTO. Insurance Pay is an added benefit for full-time TSS’s who will be compensated for missed work due to the reasons outlined in the program description, but include and are not limited to the following reasons; school holidays, weather related closures, client illness, and school delays. We encourage all full-time TSS’s to speak with their BHRS Assistant Coordinator for more information about this value-added benefit. We are sorry that our efforts are not meeting your expectations, but we are thankful that you took the time to share your opinion on here, so that the agency can think of other ways to ensure that all of our employees feel supported and valued. Thank you

Pros

I worked in several departments throughout the company and have always felt supported and valued. I moved from working on the field to working in the office and I was given sufficient training in every position to complete each task. The people are fun and inviting and I enjoy going to work every day!

Cons

When working on the field, hours were based on client compliance which could be difficult at times; but that is the nature of the job.

Pros

I haven't been with the company to long. I do have to say that I enjoy that I'm not tied to a desk every single day and I get to be out in the field a great deal. Which is nice due to me not being able to remain behind a desk for very long without become extremely antsy. I have some great coworkers and supervise some great individuals that are working as a TSS. My caseload is generally okay as far as how many hours I have to bill each week.

Cons

Here comes my favorite part. Lemme start a list: 1) The BSC/MT/TSS Lounge at the office I work at is small, has very few computers, and the tech is almost always on the fritz. 2) While I am a Master's Level Clinician, I barely make enough to support myself. I am married and Heaven Forbid my wife and I have kids. She works and our two incomes would barely help raise kids. I know of other Masters Level Individuals who get paid more at other companies. 3) Insurance is expensive. Over $200 a month for just me. My wife has about the same insurance plan for about half of what I pay. YET, our insurance is supposed to have part of it covered. If I were to add my wife, my premium would double. If I had kids to add along with my wife, it would almost triple. 4) Each office in each county has different pay rates. (Let that sink in) 5) Performance reviews determine raises and that is NEVER more than 2% of what you presently make. 6) The higher-ups a corporate do not know what is going on with the staff under them. 7) The office I work at is often the LAST to get anything done as far as repairs and such. Example: My first winter at this job, I nearly slipped and fell on ice because NO ONE had come out to salt the parking lot. It was pouring rain and myself and an Out-Patient therapist did it while risking getting sick. 8) I spend most of my weekend doing progress notes since I work till 6:30 or 7 Monday through Thursday and 5 to 5:30 on Fridays. I'm exhausted when I get home and have NO TIME to spend with my wife. 9) All paperwork is either hand written or typed. If its typed, you print it off at your expense since everything has to be handed in. The binders used to house the paperwork are huge and run out of space quick. 10) I have very little free time and when I try to do self-care, I end up having to use PTO I may or may not have to take a day off. 11) The company places entirely to much emphasis on billing and not enough time on taking care of their employees. There is no 401k for new employees. The "perks" don't work (Most places have no idea that they are supposed to offer a discount). I used to go to the gym to workout, but can't do so due to having not PERSONAL TIME due to having to "bill, bill, bill". The company stopped doing any activities to let the staff just blow off steam (like company picnics and etc). I could keep going, but I am going to stop for now and let others make their own judgement about the company.

Thank you for the feedback. We are committed to providing a fair and supportive environment for all our employees, so we are disappointed to hear about some of your responses. Wages are structured around educational level, licensure, and years of experience. This helps ensure that pay levels for our different programs are competitive externally and equitable internally. This structure is designed to reward performance and skills based on the results from performance evaluations. Any increase in pay is considered based on performance in key areas and within a range determined by the Corporation each year during the annual evaluation. We encourage our employees to discuss any questions or concerns about their pay or performance with their immediate supervisor or Human Resources. We will share your suggestions with our management team and we appreciate you sharing them with us. Thank you for your feedback.
