Struggle to Maintain Hours

Pros

Working directly with kids and making a difference felt meaningful. Great coworkers. Good connection with others in my position. Some flexibility in schedule.

Cons

Lack of consistency in hours resulting in having to use PTO to supplement paycheck. Little to no room for growth within the organization.

Pros

As a TSS, I have been given the option of choosing my clients. I love the fact that I have been able to have a work schedule that is flexible. I have been able to go to school part time and work. The environment is friendly and the coordinator is available most of the time, and so are the BSCs/MTs. What I love the most is the supportive atmosphere that comes from co-workers.

Cons

What I dislike about my job is missing hours with my client. The client isn't always available which results in loss of hours due to illness, weather, vacation or a lapse in hours due to needing re-authorization. Also, parents can make the job difficult especially if they are not communicating with the BSC or TSS.
