TERRIBLE COMPANY

Pros

Genesis is located in a nice town.... That's about it

Cons

There is no communication between upper level management down the line. Constant wage freezes due to over extension in China project and lawsuits for malpractice. No 401K match in 6 years but according to both GHC and GRS ( Genesis Healthcare and Genesis Rehab Services) its a discretionary match which is how they get out of providing it. Salaries are inconsistent and paid at lowest level possible. If you are not part of the original "click" you will not be promoted. Constructive criticism is not accepted although it is asked of you. The company this year laid 10% of its overhead with another layoff on the way. Do yourself a favor and look for another healthcare company to work at. The benefits are also EXTREMELY expensive and have terrible coverage.

Pros

- Emerging opportunities to do home health care in conjunction with your hours in facility - Big company, lot of mobility opportunities

Cons

- They only care about the bottom line (and have recently become publicly traded) - They are buying out surrounding facilities in Massachusetts - A lot of full time positions are 35 hours, and on top of that I've heard about people receiving raises only to have them taken back, thus squandering your earning power.
