Pros

They provide a decent salary

Cons

Management is very poor. If you're not in the "in crowd" you're not treated the same as everyone else. HR is quite poor. There's not enough people and the people they have seem to lack HR experience. Generally HR seems to be hands off on many aspects. Lots of acquisitions. Every 6 months there's a new acquisition. I believe the end goal is to build up enough value and be sold to a larger company. I don't see a lot of growth potential within the company unless you live in India. They're primarily hiring in India.

Pros

I have been working for Precisely (and its legacy company PB Software & Data) for over 7 years. I had great managers throughout my career here. I am a single mom in a leadership position and the business and my manager have been nothing but supportive. I changed departments and got promoted into a global role during my maternity leave. I am able to work flexible hours whenever needed (particularly during the lockdown with limited childcare) and have been allowed to relocate to my home country in wich we have an entity. I know I work very hard and probably get all this amazing support in return. I cannot thank my teams, managers and colleagues enough for all their help throughout the years. It's been an amazing journey thus far.

Cons

Precisely does not pay the highest salaries in the market. However with all the support and flexibility given, all the interesting challenges and exciting changes, this is the right place for me at present and has been for the past 7 years!

Pros

You have to try really hard to find that as an employee

Cons

The executive team of a small mainframe product firm (syncsort) somehow managed to convince a bunch of PE firms that they would create a data management giant. The PE's poured in some money and along with a huge amount of leverage this small company started acquiring other software and product business . To make these acquisitions meet the inevitable debt covenants starts the journey of "Optimization" - They end up laying off many people in any company they acquire (All part of the strategy). Some of the acquired companies have lost over 50% off the overall staff. They changed the name of the company because of all the negativity that got generated and continue the journey under a new name. Still acquiring companies and doing RIFs to meet the optimization targets - Maybe they will rebrand again in 1-2 years. To keep up appearances , they change the L2/3 management every so ofen that these naive (they will also be out soon) people keep on parroting a image of software product firm with enthusiasm . Only join or continue to work in this company if you have no where else to go.
