Pros

lunches, company events, training on healthcare topics, one of the best PM teams in the industry, good benefits (health care, 401k match, etc..), flexible WFH. it's a good place to learn if you're new to healthcare marketing but not a place to grow.

Cons

too much turn over in senior management, they would almost intentionally understaff the teams, and chastise people for asking for more help or support. Especially beware if you have any type of advanced degree (Masters, RN, MD, PharmD) they will increase your workload far more than other team members and make you feel guilty for asking for asking for help or work life balance. Very little to no opportunity for career development. they only promote people after the entire team quits almost every 4-6 months due to poor senior leadership. They also severely underpay everyone based on industry standards, so if you want to work here fiercely negotiate your base salary & bonus percentage.

Pros

Pre-COVID the work environment was fun, was able to gain experience on high dollar accounts

Cons

So much focus on growth and bottom line that the agency lost all values, culture and meaning of camaraderie. Leadership was so out of touch with the employees doing the day to day work and made decisions without thinking through the the impacts for all team members. Accountability of team members was horrendous. Promotions were handed out like candy to the people who cried the loudest which only encouraged the lack of accountability. What little leadership there was pre-COVID went right out the door after we went remote.

Where creativity goes to die

Pros

The east coast office works pretty much like a normal creative agency. The talent is lacking there too, but there are still a few solid people hanging on, albeit having been there forever.

Cons

The Costa Mesa team at Precision Effect, on the other hand, is the most dysfunctional work environment I’ve experienced. It’s catty, non transparent, and most everyone does the bare minimum. It appeared to me like some in leadership positions worked only several hours a day—weeks would go by without me hearing from them or without progress on key issues. The system is unintuitive and fractured at every level. Competent hires would start and leave within months because it’s so bad. The result is extremely poor work output. Some of the final creative sent to clients was laughably terrible—what would serve as a rough draft at other agencies. If you have ambitions of making great work this is not the place for you. You could take a dump on a page and they’d be fine with it as long as they could log off at 3pm, which most everyone did every day. If you’re looking for a place to skate by, punch the clock, and have meetings about meetings, you can survive at Precision and never have to face any challenge. But if you have any actual career ambition at all I would avoid it like the plague.
