If your job description mentions "strategic leadership," take it with a grain of salt. The company's overall strategy is unclear, making it difficult to understand the direction of the business.
Inhumane and Unstable Environment
Job security is a major concern here. It seems like layoffs happen every quarter, with decisions on who is let go appearing to be random and lacking strategic thought. These layoffs often target billable staff, the very people who generate revenue, while the bloated and seemingly self-obsessed senior leadership remains largely untouched. This creates a constant sense of unease and makes it impossible to get comfortable in your role.
Poor Leadership and Lack of Psychological Safety
The company is rife with egos and a senior leadership team with an overinflated sense of self. Psychological safety is nonexistent; you can be thrown under the bus at any time by a leader trying to save themselves, regardless of who is actually at fault. Additionally, bad behavior seems to be rewarded. I witnessed known bullies being promoted even after complaints were made against them.
Confusing Systems and Processes
The company uses an excessive number of systems, and new ones are constantly being implemented with little communication. You are expected to adapt quickly with minimal support, often just a useless online training video. This creates a frustrating and inefficient workflow for employees.
