Pros

When the bonuses were good it made financial sense. The work life balance is horrible. When you factor the hours spent vs. your pay including bonuses your $/hour aren't very good.

Cons

*work life balance terrible *little to no investment in new technologies *unrealistic demands on organizations without an up front investment in people or capital improvements *always working harder and not smarter *GE has too much influence on this company-degrading earnings. *Division leadership (Small Structures) isn't competent about the product they produce or about how to product it *arogance at the top is intolerable and unhealthy to the morale

Pros

There is always work and they give you a cell phone

Cons

I would recommend everyone stay away from Wyman Gordon unless it is your last choice. Everyone there is miserable and it rubs off on you. They are unstaffed all the time to save money so they put up job bids to make the impression they are looking for people to help you, but they never hire. The pay may seem good, but they don’t tell you about the weeks of furloughs they force you to take every year. Make sure you save the vacation they give you for the two week shut down as well because it is unpaid. Also you will be working 50+ hours a week unless you are in the front office. If you are worried about outliving your significant other, don’t worry if the titanium dust doesn’t hurt your health, the dirt in the offices and all over the floor will. I was about to put my two weeks in and they caught wind of me leaving so they fired me. They claimed it was my job, on top of my other duties, to tell HR I was unhappy. I had gone to HR to find a job within the company, but they didn’t want to let me go so they didn’t help. I took the job knowing it was bad there, but I didn’t know how bad. Unless you are coming from a manufacturing facility in China, expect the worse then triple it.

Pros

Decent pay, lots of overtime available (hourly) if your desperate for a paycheck this place fits the bill. Plenty of work on the horizon. stable work flow decent safety record.

Cons

Management treat the hourly employees like herds of livestock. The slice of the pie is getting smaller. cutting benefits each year, newer employees start at lower wages, smaller raises, basically lowering the standard of quality for the product.
