Pros

Call Center is great. Schedule is very flexible. After area meetings realized that some funeral homes partner better with Preco's than others. Simply put it is based on commission, and commission depends on your funeral homes prices. I may have had the same batting average (closing sales rate) but make only a quarter of the money.

Cons

Call center doesn't screen "good appointments" and the policy is to sell as much as possible. Now every month I seem to get letters for pay backs on commissions. (months after I stoped selling) Was told if I closed 40% commision I would make "___", and I was at close rate of 45% and was making much less than the projected. They said I was not upselling, but there estimate included my firm(funeral home) selling cash advances on cementary, which was against my firm's policy. A pro is with a "good" as in profit driven funeral home, it will be "bad" if you with a family-owned good for the community firm. If you work in a poor community, or at a lower cost funeral home will have to work more for rewards and equal money. It seemed very apparent that there is no room to move up if not LDS (Mormon). When I asked my regional guy about it, he knew of the top of his head the few non-LDS in management nationally. (Which should be a red flag,) They treat CEO like a god who came back from death at events.

Pros

Flexible work/life balance. Annual Company trip.

Cons

Trust No One! Deceit and betrayal is abundant. The culture was supposed to be the selling point; the culture is more like sorority. Leadership is non-existent. It is evident that most individuals in management or leadership roles have very little experience. Your personal life will always be under attack. No clear strategy for long term growth or career advancement. Not a place to work if you are looking to advance quickly and maximize your income potential. Its actually looked down upon. No one really understands how commissions are calculated, including the finance department (weird). if you have eyes on the back of your head and don't mind pulling a knife out of your back on a regular occasion, its not terrible. A lot of top talent has left over the past few years. I anticipate there is more to follow.
