A big fake family.

Pros

Decent pay right out of school. It's somewhat meaningful work, but also weird being in the funeral industry. Cool swag.

Cons

Taking advantage of old people. Executives pretend to love you like family, it's weird. It's a big contest to try to be the coolest, like most sales organizations. Everyone pretends to care, but deep down their own self-interest matters most. Precoa prioritizes their BYU recruits cause most of upper management comes from there, so good luck if you come from another university.

Thank you for your candor and your feedback. As our company has grown, we’ve focused on expanding our recruiting efforts. Today, our field team is recruited from across the country, and what they all have in common is a dedication to serving families by helping them prepare for one of the most difficult times in their lives. We believe that a prearranged funeral is an opportunity to experience meaningful connection and healing, and we’re striving to make a large-scale change in how people perceive funeral service. Caring about our employees and their overall well-being is also an important piece of what we do, and we continuously focus on ways we can learn and improve. Not Great Long Term

Pros

- Many bright coworkers - Autonomy for projects - Remote work

Cons

Not a great place for women or POC. Upper management and executive team are extremely unskilled. Nepotism and recruiting from BYU is rampant (feeding into the diversity and inclusion issues). Wage disparity and inequity, and salaries are not competitive to any industry. Many executives and VPs are in high positions of power without any reason but because they are in the inner circle of the Mormon male bros. Reconsider this place if you're looking to build a career. Discouraging and sad tolerance for gender and race discrimination. HR will do everything to protect the executive team or VPs and not hold anyone accountable.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your candor and how much you value an inclusive workplace that honors diverse perspectives. We’re sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t reflected that, and we’re in the process of instituting company-wide initiatives that address these two concerns of inclusion and diversity. Precoa has grown and progressed in many ways since it was started in 2004. One of the key areas we are now focused on is making sure the day-to-day experience of our employees aligns with our core values. Again, thank you for your comments. Please reach out at feedback@precoa.com with any further thoughts and suggestions.

Pros

Great people Really supportive culture Opportunities to be involved in more than job title/description

Cons

Salaries for the most hard working teams/people are disgracefully low Needs to be more cross-collaboration within teams and departments Should be more diversity (minorities, women, LGBTQIA+) Lots of talent where they should be promoting from within Need to be investing more in their staff (training, continuing education)
