Pros

Good pay and bonus and free parking.

Cons

Current executive management could improve their performance (previous was much better) and management overall is very top heavy. Also exceptionally poor HR department. There were constant complaints from both staff and management about HR. The HR department had high turnover.

Pros

Great people. Really passionate about the customer experience.

Cons

Under the new CEO & Executive Leadership company is going downhill fast. Massive monthly layoffs, with promotions amongst the Senior/Executive Leadership. The board should really take a look at what's going on before the whole company goes under or gets outsourced. New leadership/CEO is needed.

Pros

I truly enjoyed my time at Premera. The people is nice, they mean good, and most are hard working. Great benefits, good WLB, now mostly open to WFH. Campus is great too.

Cons

Premera has wanted to become a data driven company for years now, but hasn't been able to make the shift from HiPPO (Highest Paid Person in the Room) decision making to data driven decision making. It's not intentional, I am in no way suggesting Premera leadership is giving lip service on being data driven. But going from decades of a stagnant industry to a technology era is a difficult transition, requires fighting a lot of inertia, and takes courageous leaders. At the end of the day, Premera hasn't been able to make that change yet. And because there is no systematic way of measuring what works and what doesn't, the HiPPO continues to make decision, surrounding himself (most Premera HiPPOs are male) with agreeable senior and mid management, and success cannot be distinguished from failure, and the vicious loop continues.
