MVH has a lot of great people working there. There are many in house opportunities to obtain contact hours for your license renewal.

Cons

Top heavy management that are not visible to the workers because they spend all day in meetings. Staff frequently have to float to different units, sometimes every 4 hours so you could have up to 15-18 patients in one 12 hour shift.

The compensation is good and there is opportunity to work with committed competent professionals.

Cons

The hospital was recently absorbed into the Premier network and some of the changes make me think the new administrators have not been in direct care in a very long time, if ever.

Pros

Some amazing and knowledgeable nurses. Great opportunity to see and learn a lot. Level 1 trauma center so you see some crazy stuff.

Cons

Very political. It's clear the company does not value their employees. Look at the multi million dollar bonuses the CEO's/presidents got in the past couple years....yet staff RN's, techs, etc haven't gotten a christmas bonus in 3 years.
