The people at PresenceLearning are sincerely invested in improving and democratizing related services for special education students. Co-workers are hard-working and collaborative and there's a clear respect for work/life balance.

Cons

There are occasional, surprising instances of instability, but these are rare and seem part and parcel of working for a tech start-up in general.

Pros

Extremely tight-knit community, everyone's passionate about what they do and how it contributes to the overall goal. Upper management, including our CEO, is hands-on, and communicative. There's a very clear path set when you're hired so you're aware of how you will move up within the company, and many positions are available directly as a result of that person being promoted.

Cons

The biggest downside of working here is loving the company so much that the idea of working elsewhere is terrifying!

* Small but growing dev team that is building the future of the product and engineering practices that will define this company for years to come * Able to influence the direction of the systems and processes in a collegial atmosphere * Able to directly impact the success of the organization and the success of therapists who use our software to deliver much needed services to students * Great small company atmosphere that respects and promotes a mature yet fun collaborative engineering culture. Every day, we look to improve on what we did the day before

* sometimes I have to stay at the office late because I want a seat on the Bart :) * occasionally, I grimace slightly reading git log... git blame... me!? * yeah, our devops-erators are just too cool. I had to get a new haircut to compete.
