Pros

I spent 5 years of my life at Presidio. In the beginning, it was a great place to work. The money was always above average. The last 12-18 months were absolutely HORRIBLE and I could not get out of there fast enough.

Cons

Engineering management's vision is office independent and extremely black and white -- don't expect anyone in engineering to think outside the box because they won't. Also, don't expect that the vision in one office matches another. There are literally 20 different visions within one company. You will get a story about their single vision and perhaps that is the case at the upper management level but is hardly the case at the local level. Pre-sales engineering has tunnel vision and needs to get out of the office more. They over-price their services and think they are justified because "We are Presidio". Delivery engineers are treated one step above endentured servants. They get stuck working every weekend and have a poor work/life balance.

Pros

You can learn a lot here and get exposure to multiple technologies, if you're motivated and willing to constantly break down the walls they put in your way

Cons

Presidio is the most toxic IT company I've yet worked for, and one of the worst of any companies I've worked for. Management cares more about image and the bottom line than about their employees or customers, and don't understand that by making the customers and employees happy, they would be even more successful. Putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. They are too cheap to hire enough competent employees and provide proper tools to allow them to provide the support the customers pay for. They constantly sell more than they can provide, leading to overworked employees and dissatisfied customers. Both are a continuous revolving door. The overall culture is poor as well. Constant buck-passing and unwillingness to help. Simple questions or requests for help or information are treated as an annoyance at best, and often with outright hostility. Training and documentation are atrocious. There are almost no written procedures, and in an attempt to make incoming customers happy, they make all sorts of concessions that make keeping track of all the promises made practically impossible, adding to the burnout of the employees and customer dissatisfaction. It's sad that a few relatively minor changes could make everyone happier and the company more successful and profitable and the management is so poor they can't see it. SLAs are met pathetically low percentage of the time. Vigilant customers get far too much of their money back before leaving for a better provider. Only the influx of new customers keeps Presidio in business. Too bad they don't understand it's less expensive to keep a customer than constantly find new ones.

Pros

Work-life balance but even that is very dependent on the client project you are put on Some good managers who have 0 control over anything

Cons

1. Lot of false promises (About when promotions/raises will happen). They are very good at stringing along 2. No career growth, upper management climbs the ladder so fast but delivery gets left behind. In the whole DBSS delivery group, less than 5 people were promoted 3. Lack of vision or proper resource planning 4. Salaries are way below the market rate 5. Very high attrition (Have seen at least 50% of the people on one of my projects leave the company itself), leading to subpar talent 6. A lot of DBSS leadership is looking for their paydays from their stocks. So they are not really worried about growing the company 7. Really poor benefits for a company that has been growing pretty significantly
