Cons
Bureaucracy and slowness. The IT and security department, trying to pretend they’re doing something useful, bans everything possible. They won’t actually prevent any real data breach, because if someone wants to leak data they’ll do it anyway, but that doesn’t stop them from prohibiting you from changing your computer wallpaper and blocking your Spotify 🤡 circus Every day you come in and it’s a new lottery of how they’ll ruin your life. Force a MacBook update on you for half an hour during an important presentation without asking your permission? Easy. Break the WiFi or simply not pay for it - no problem, same with Artifactory, GitLab and other services. You’ll submit 10 tickets over a month fighting for USB access, and then suddenly after a week they’ll decide to do a review and revoke your rights. You need to test installation and removal of your main application - create a ticket for each install and uninstall, and if they’re slow and your release is on fire, nobody cares. There are many complaints about HR, poor organization of hiring processes and Human Resources but no one changes them. Thanks to them you can end up without salary, bonus, contract, visa simply because they delayed and didn’t care about you. Pretty poor organization in some teams, unclear goals, questionable hiring and roles of some employees
