Moving in the wrong direction

Pros

Since resigning, I no longer have to deal with problems in a daily basis, which is definitely a plus. There are a few things that seem to be positive.... I liked what I did along with the clients and relationships I created with brokers.

Cons

The overall direction of the company is payroll which is in the complete opposite direction the company took the year prior. The sad part is, they payroll product is inferior and problematic. The payroll technology platform is still supported by a DOS system. Onboarding and Implementation make a TON of costly mistakes and to save themselves, they can blame you even if you did nothing wrong. Customer service in payroll is a joke. Since losing a key player and leader who was in charge of that role, the customer service people seem to not want to provide customer service aside from a select few. Management and middle management appear to have moved into a role as a bunch of 'yes men'. They have no voice or opinion and their purpose of their role is clearly to pass down the message of 'sell more payroll'. There quoting system that they just implemented is an absolute disaster. The process that they just created was clearly created by someone who has never sold a day in their lives. What appeared to be a real eye opener was the fact that upper sales executives and management had no idea the amount of issues and problems it had. My time there was not all entirely bad, but it went from good to impossibly terrible quickly. Throughout my time there, it had ups and downs, but these lastest decisions and changes are running everything into the ground or at least, efforts should have been made to fix areas that are a major problem. While for some reason, I was treated terrible in my exit interview, I have watched others leave on good terms. I believe my negative experience to be chalked up to an immature and extremely green manager. I was willing to cooperate, but due to HR not willing to listen to my new role and understand what I would be doing in the position I recently accepted with a competitor, which has absolutely nothing to do with PrimePay and frankly, they do not even offer ANY services in which I would be selling, I feel like I will offer them the same amount of respect they have shown me. I was frankly appalled and shocked. People resign all of the time, but they act so offended. Rather than acknowledging that I am being offered a wonderful opportunity where I am able to advance my career, I was treated like a criminal.

Pros

I worked at PrimePay for two years and I must commend the recruitment team- my coworkers were some of the best people I have ever met and they truly went the extra degree to help not only participants and clients and brokers, but also each other. But they never stuck around very long once they wise up and realize that they are worth more than PrimePay can offer them. John Tatum was the best boss I ever had.

Cons

The pay is awful. If all the CSRs packed up and quit today and went to work for Paychex, they would all be making $3-5 more than they currently are. Sales training with regards to the benefit products we offer needs to be improved. They constantly oversell and overpromise to clients or brokers and then when we can’t deliver, it becomes a service issue and it’s bad customer service. That’s just not right. Have someone who knows Benefit Services teach them about FSAs and HRAs, etc. that would avoid a lot of pain on our end.
